So the weekend kicked my ass...

All day Saturday I participated in a Highland Games. We got there at 8:30 and were there till around 5:00. I don't think it ever got out of the 40's all day. I couldn't feel my fingers, I couldn't hear myself play, and chanter was squeaking. Not a great day for playing and not a great day for the games. Oh, it was nice and clear, but damn was it cold...and breezy. I swear it took me about 2 hours after I got home to warm up.

Yesterday the band had to play a Kirkin' of the Tartans at a big Presbyterian church in Hendersonville. It was much warmer--especially since we got to sit inside. :) However, they put the band up by the altar facing the congregation, so you really have to work to stay awake. After I finished all of that, I headed home and didn't leave the rest of the day. I didn't do much of anything either. Basically I laid around on my ass and watched TV.
I have to say that it felt great! I should do it more often...maybe.

Tonight is commmunity band practice and we'll be starting the holiday music. Oh lord, here it comes.
