2006-09-25 - 12:29 p.m. The weekend was...well, it was the weekend. Friday night I spent watching "The Girl with the Pearl Earring" which was just lovely. Great costumes, great acting...just lovely. Saturday was an interesting day. I spent about 4 hours of it at the local Marching Band Competition. Unfortunately I wasn't all that entertained. I can only name one HS band that really did it for me and that's sad. Too many of them started well then just fizzled out. Some were just plain old boring. Bad choices of music for the most part. I blame their Band Director's completely. However, it was completely worth going for that one HS band, and then we were treated to my old college alma mater's band. They were completely AWESOME! as usual. I can't help but have a little dab of pride knowing I was once part of the group. :) After they played, it was time for a break and time for us to cruise for the day. We hadn't had any lunch so that was a definite. Ended up going to Cheeseburger in Paradise and having some completely fabulous crab cakes. yummm. And a completely fabulous martini. yummmm. After a little shopping at the pet store, I got home and ended the evening watching "Walk the Line". What a great movie. Sunday was spent doing the usual...meaning pipe band practice. I was sweating like a damn pig by the time it was over. We played for about an hour outside... in the big humidity. yuck. So now we start the week all over again. oh goody.
