I was going to update this thing earlier today...but somehow time got away from me. C'est la vie.

The weekend...she was...busy, but not so busy. I know, that made absolutely no sense, right?

Friday night...what the hell *did* I do on friday night? I don't know, let me get my calendar...ahh, here it is, now I remember. I stayed at home and watched "Memoirs of a Geisha". It was pretty, but of course, just not as good as the book. I believe I went to bed relatively early. good thing too.

Saturday I got up, did some stuff around the house, then headed off to the Goodwill for a delivery and to do some shopping. Emer and B were nice enough to come pick me up and we had a good time doing the shopping thing. We ended up at a big sale at the mall, where I tried on a bizillion different items and only bought 2. We met Rhi and I for lunch at the Taco Hell, then headed back home.

I had great intentions of taking a nap on Sat. afternoon, but... I was in the mood to clean and get rid of clutter AND (being the uber-geek that I am) I had the tape of ComicCon to watch. I had decided to tape it Friday night since I really wanted to watch that movie, and I couldn't do both. So, I popped the tape in and watched it in anticipation of my own trip to DragonCon next month. Yay! G4 sure plays a lot of commercials though.

I sort-of snoozed for awhile, then had to get up and get going, because the local goth night was a'happenin'. We all had a great time and I was lucky enough to not be the driver this time! However, not being the driver means you are not in charge...so we ended up staying till after 2:00. I think the best thing of the night was when I realized I was sitting around a table, in a courtyard, in downtown Ashe-vegas, with a bunch of goth and punk types, having a really intelligent conversation about Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. Wow.

Sunday I mostly spent lying about doing nothing...until the great stink happened! Let me first preface this story by telling you that we have been having a raccoon visit our back deck for a couple of months now. She's nursing and is eating everything in sight. My dad has been feeding her cat food and other scraps.

Now then, my dear old Dad had discovered a very OLD parcel of ground beef in the freezer downstairs. This cow was gray and violently freezer burned. Not a good sign, eh? He decided that instead of throwing it out, like a normal person, he would cook it and feed it to the raccoon. OMG!!!! This was the biggest mistake he has made in some time. The smell is still lingering in my nose 24 hours later.

It was so terrible that I had to purge. Definitely not good. Mom and I left, and did not come back until almost 10:00 last night. We went out to eat, since eating at our house was NOT going to happen. We had left ALL the windows and the doors open when we left. The stink was still viable when we got home. Holy Shit. No, shit smells a lot better than this. It was completely unbelievable.

Incense and an entire can of air-freshener finally helped get rid of most of it.

I certainly hope he learned his lesson. I just hope he doesn't kill his raccoon with the tainted stuff. Hopefully she'll have better sense than to eat it.
