2006-06-25 - 3:51 p.m. It's a lazy Sunday afternoon...and it's great. Too bad it can't stay this way, but I've got to go out this evening and be musical. Tonight is our first Summer Orchestra concert of the year. We've been rehearsing for 3 weeks and tonight we get to show off what we've been doing. I'm being featured tonight on my bagpipes. Yes, I'm a little nervous, but I'm sure I'll get over it. I'm not really playing with the orchestra, but before the piece and right after it. I'm playing the theme of it to get it started and then walking away from the orchestra to the back of the room and rehashing it again at the very end. Couldn't play along with the orchestra because the pipes just DON'T mesh well with practically any other group. Hell, we've only got nine notes and those notes don't go with much of anything....except other pipes. I'm hoping it goes well and I'll be glad when it's over with. Of course, I'm also playing first bassoon, and those tunes should be just peachy. Alrighty, it's time to start getting awake to go do this. I've been just laying around this afternoon and it's been glorious. wish me luck!
