2006-06-19 - 11:23 a.m. I made it back from the mini-vacation and we packed so much in that it may take more than one little entry to give it justice. But first, I *must* start with a bitch session...After really enjoying my few days off, I returned to work this morning to discover that a couple of my employees took it upon themselves to "clean up" the office. Holy Shit Batman. They have rearranged everything and now I have no fucking idea of where anything is. Before I left on my little trip, I *knew* where stuff was located. Need a new book? I knew where it was. Need some scotch tape? I knew where it was. Now...I have no clue and it's completely pissed me off. WHY, oh WHY can't people just ask before being "helpful"? I know that only good was intended and I can't deny that the place looks lovely and tidy. But I ask, what good is neat and tidy if you can't FIND ANYTHING??? I already chewed the ass of one of the culprits this morning and the other one will get his later. The innocent co-worker showed up this morning and before I could say anything, narked on the other two and said she told them it wasn't a good thing and she washed her hands of it. Boy, does she know me well. OK, that's enough of my rant...for now. Funny thing is, I was actually in a good mood this morning and looking forward to being here. sheesh. So...the vacation. We left bright and early Thursday morning headed for the wilds of Pigeon Forge, TN. We took the scenic route and along the way were treated to the sights and smells of the Lucks Bean Factory and the Bush's Beans Factory. They must like beans in East TN. We got to Sevierville and decided to stop and break our fast at a lovely place called the Apple Barn. I'll just say one thing...."YUM". After breakfast we decided to explore the place further and since it *was* 11:00am already, we decided on doing a little wine tasting. he-he...and it was good. We prowled around the Christmas store a bit then headed on towards our destination. We were thwarted in our efforts by stopping at the newly opened "Wonderworks" place. You know, the upside-down building you see in tourist-y places like Orlando. We had a blast in there! Lots of fun stuff to do and play with. Fun for all ages! whoo-hoo! We hung out there for a couple of hours then resumed our travels. We were once again detained by a stop by the Dinosaur Museum. It probably wasn't worth the price we paid to get in, but it was very cool anyway. They have lots of "life-size" replica dinos and it was all quite antediluvian. Fun stuff. After perusing the large lizards, we finally made it to our hotel. A very nice Best Western and one of the biggest hotel rooms I swear I've ever stayed. (Good choice there, C.) We took a minute to breathe then headed back out again... ...I'm afraid I'll have to continue the saga later...stay tuned!
