2006-06-06 - 1:42 p.m. When did I last update? I think it was right before the big "fix-up" situation, right? Here's what happened... I showed up for the cook-out a bit early and told them I was leaving at 7:00. I certainly didn't want to be stuck all evening in a situation I tried like hell to get out of. I had a couple of beers and then "the guy" showed up. Oh dear. Not even close to being my "type". I wasn't attracted to him in the least and the fact that I didn't want to be there completely weighed against him. We chatted for awhile and then other people showed up. Thank goodness. I pretty much bailed to help in the kitchen and tried my darnedest to not give any signals out that I might be interested at all. I made it through till the magic hour of 7:00 and I announced that I had to go. Before I could leave, the host of the party loudly (and drunkenly) asked me to "not leave before he got my number". I politely pointed out that his wife already *had* my number. I was about to go when he asked AGAIN! WTF? dude, get a grip and get over it. I ended up having a lovely evening hanging out with Rhi watching movies. however...I had a message on my voice mail yesterday from "the guy" asking me out for the evening. Ahhhh!!! Why the hell couldn't my "friend" have bothered to ask me if I wanted her to give my number out? But Nooooo! Didn't happen. So, even if I wasn't having major dental work done yesterday, there was no way I was going out with him. I didn't call him back. I hope that's not too rude, but screw it. uh-uh. not happenin'. Hopefully he'll get the hint. sigh. Anyway, so I *did* have major dental work done yesterday afternoon. A crown on my back lower molar. Very special....and the most special part is that it doesn't fit right. I'm going back this afternoon for him to see what he can do about it. He made the permanent crown in the office yesterday and put it in, so it's not a temporary. Hopefully he can fix it so that it doesn't feel like a foreign object in my mouth when I bite down. I just hope it doesn't take long. My mouth is sore enough today as it is. owie. ...now where's my aspirin again?
