2006-05-15 - 10:28 a.m. Oh look! It's Monday again. yee-haw. So the weekend was a blast and it went by much too fast. Friday night was A-B Tech's graduation which was interesting. I was very proud to see two great people receive their degrees. Lots of hard work there. The ceremony was a little long, but only because there were so many graduates. The speaker was fine and even kept it pretty short, although he did get a wee bit on the boring side, as short as it was. That's probably to be expected though. The "special music" was some dude singing "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" from "Oklahoma". He had a fine voice, but lord! why that song? After graduation we got all of our crap together then finally headed down the mountain for the event. We got there around midnight and Troll had already closed. Fortunately we ran into someone who was in our cabin at the Hall and he gave us directions. Of course I got no sleep all weekend and last night wasn't much better. I'm a bit of a zombie today. The site was a girl scout camp with those lovely plastic covered mattresses. You know, the kind that squeek and fart everytime you make a move on them. Combine that with the snoring that was going on in the cabin and that adds up to no sleep for me. sigh. Oh well, it was worth it. It's really nice to go to an event once in a while and not be in charge of anything. Just hanging out reminds me of why I joined up in the first place. Lots of friends, new and old, and laughter. Lots of laughter. I was also amazed that I didn't get my usual event headache from hell. I'm really bad to develop a migraine at most events. Sensory overload maybe? Anyway, it didn't happen this time. yay! Alas, right now I need to get back to the real world and do some work. later!
