2006-04-24 - 1:28 p.m. Oh well. No zoo for me this time. It rained like a bitch all day on Saturday. So instead of the zoo, we took the little tyke to the Children's museum in Winston-Salem. I have to say that it was quite the place. LOTS of fun things to do for the kiddies. I wish there had been some place like that when I was a kid, you could spend hours in there. There's a little grocery store where the kids can pretend shop. There's a little donut factory where they can "make the donuts". There's a storyland place with scenes from favorite books. My, my, just fun stuff. And the best part is that there were books everywhere! I would be thrilled to pieces to have a library like that. All I can say is "wow". My nephew had a ball there and then we headed off for some lunch. Went to Texas Roadhouse instead of Chuck E. Cheese and I was eternally grateful. Chuck E. Cheese was being renovated, so it was right out. whew. Everyone was tired after that, so we arrived back at my Bro's house to rest before making the drive back to Asheville. All in all, it was a very nice visit. My sister-in-law and I went for late night Taco Bell on Friday and washed it all down with a quantity of red wine. We're such sophisticates. I had thought about going out Sat. night, but when I got home I was just beat, so it just wasn't happening. Stayed home and watched the marathon of "Hauntings" on TLC. It was quite the creep-fest. Good stuff that. Sunday I had pipe practice and the second day of a migraine. nice. Bagpipes and migraines just don't mix, in case you were wondering. It didn't help that I had a bit of super-depressing news yesterday either. I won't go into it, but I will say that I'm still waiting for 2006 to be better than 2005. It hasn't happened yet. Now I am slammed with way too much work to do on a Monday and I've got one person out sick. Yay! I've also got Band practice tonight. I've about decided that for the rest of the year, I'm going to skip a couple of practices. I really can't afford to spend the gas to go to all my extra-curricular activities. I think I'm going to have to "pace myself" in that dept. We'll see how it goes. TTFN!
