2006-04-15 - 10:51 a.m. Wow. I survived the absolute week from Hell. I was starting to doubt around Wednesday that it could be done. Thursday was Staff Day for the Library System. We were closed to the public, but we all spent the day at the Main library talking about the future of the library system and how we do our current jobs. I actually did get quite a bit out of it, so that makes me happy. We did have to cruise back to our respective branches to empty up the bookdrop and do a few housekeeping things. (which reminds me, I have to do it today too) People just kept coming up to the door and yanking on it. Hello! It's Locked! and there's TWO big signs on the door that says we're closed. You could hear muffled yells of "You're Closed??? What For?" duh people. Sometimes we are also entitled to a Holiday once in a while. Of course, yesterdays "day off" wasn't much of one. I spent the early morning hours doing a "Career Day" at a local elementary school. I spoke to 7 consecutive classes about what Librarians do. All this happened in 2 1/2 hours. I was close to losing my voice at that moment. Then I had to head on out to another elementary school for our last Quintet gig for the 4th graders. We had to perform in the music room...and they crammed 120 kids in there...and there was no air conditioning...and an Egg hunt was going on outside. Not the most ideal of conditions, but c'est la vie! It's over! Today I have to bust ass to clean the house. People are coming over for Easter and I guess it should be respectable :) I'm also beginning to doubt I have the time to go walking with Rhi and Isolde, but we'll see. It's going to be a beautiful busy day so I'd better get to it! Happy Easter Peeps! (he-he, "peeps", how appropriate!)
