Happy Spring!

And what did Mother Nature deliver to us bright and early today? Sleet! yep, it was pouring the stuff when I left for work this morning. yay!
Fortunately it seems to have stopped now.

Man, I am tired. This weekend about did me in. Can I have a another chance at it please? I don't think I had much of one.

Friday night I met several folks downtown to do the St. Patty's day thing. So did every other person in Asheville. We abandoned hope of eating at the Irish Pub, so we ended up at a cute little restaurant that does New Orleans/Cajun food. We were fortunate that it wasn't busy and the food was good. Walked around a bit then headed home. There was a bit of a hoo-ha where a Sheriff's deputy hit someone IN A CROSSWALK. They're not sure if charges will be filed or not. You can bet that if it was anyone BUT a cop charges would be flying. He said that he was watching the people on the other side of the walk and didn't notice the OTHER peeps from the opposite side. HELLO!!! Didn't they teach you in driver's ed to look both ways? sigh.

Sorry for the tangent there...where was I? Ah yes, the weekend from hell.

Saturday I had a 2 1/2 hour Community band rehearsal that started at 9:00. I have to say that I'm not at my best at that time of the day so I was less than enthusiastic. By 2:00 I had to meet a fellow piper so we could travel down to Tryon for a pipe band gig. It was a fund-raiser thing and we didn't get paid for it. We didn't hit the stage until around 5:00 and we played for about 50 people total. goodness. We did however all go out for some good pizza afterwards.

Sunday was our Band Concert and it went pretty well. A few weird spots, but hey, it just seems our trumpet section wants to rush everything. Oh well. Not too bad and it's over with. AND we get the next two Monday nights free of rehearsal! yay!

Sunday night we had our visiting two year old come to stay. whew! We played and played, her Dad had said she hadn't had a nap all day, so we figured it shouldn't take long. Boy, was I wrong! Any mention of bed was a bad, bad thing. She has the cutest grin until you said anything about changing her clothes, then she ran her lip out and pouted. damn. We finally got her to bed around 10:00! holy cow. I was so tired that I think I fell asleep during parts of "Grey's Anatomy" and missed some stuff. darn.

And today is Monday...here we go again. The two yr. old will be with us until around 10:00 tonight too. So I'll be doing the same thing when I get home tonight.

Can I please have a shot of energy?
